Precision Neuroscience

Precision Neuroscience was founded by Benjamin Rapoport, Michael Mager, and Mark Hettick, with Rapoport and Mager both veterans of Neuralink. The company's Layer 7 Cortical Interface is a 1,024-electrode ECoG array delivered via a minimally invasive slit craniotomy — a strategic bet on surface recording rather than penetrating intracortical arrays. The Layer 7 received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2025 for implantation durations of up to 30 days. Precision has implanted Layer 7 on the cerebral cortex of 37+ patients as of April 2025 and announced a partnership with Medtronic to integrate Layer 7 with the StealthStation surgical navigation system in January 2026.
